Meet Kelly Peyton, founder and CEO of Ma Wovens. Kelly along with CRO Liz Fitzgerald are on a mission to build a thoughtful company that celebrates the ancient handcraft of weaving.

The Ritual Rug was conceived by Kelly during yoga teacher training in her favorite place, Mexico. While surrounded by beautiful handwoven goods, immersed in yogic philosophy, and finding herself slipping on her yoga mat, Kelly couldn't get the idea of a woven yoga mat out of her mind! Upon arriving home, she bought a floor loom, sliced up her yoga mat, and got to work. After countless prototypes and a trip to India to work hands-on with master weavers, The Ritual Rug was born.

The Ritual Rug is ethically handwoven in Northern India, the birthplace of yoga and home to generations of weavers. This ancient craft has withstood the test of time and is widely appreciated in our modern world for many reasons!

"The beauty and texture of things made by hand are so pleasing to the senses- we respond deeply to this craft, and have for thousands of years. In addition, handwoven goods are super functional and made to last, allowing us to preserve our natural resources."

The Ritual Rug is one of the most sustainable Yoga Mats handwoven by master weavers on looms. They're made of Organic Hemp & Non-Toxic TPE Rubber. Hemp is durable, anti-microbial, and considered one of the most sustainable plants on Earth. TPE rubber is non-toxic, natural, and bio-degradable.
"We have always been quick to say 'we are NOT a yoga brand.' This is because the intention for the brand from the beginning had been clear, 'we're a handwoven goods company, and our first product happens to be for practicing meditation and yoga.'

 The Ritual Rug $188.00

Over this last year, as people have spent more time inside, they've started to have a different relationship with their space at home. Kelly saw how both the home decor and fitness sector began to soar at the beginning of quarantine, and The Ritual Rug sits nicely right at the intersection of both. People began to understand the value of a beautiful, unique object for practicing yoga and meditation, which could double as a wall decoration. They sell tapestry hangers so you can hang your Ritual Rug up when it's not in use. Also, by leaving it out so prominently, the beautiful rug is an enticing reminder to take time throughout your day to relax, stretch etc. They've seen more and more consumers taking The Ritual Rug to the park and reading on it, dancing on it, playing with their babies on it, and the list goes on.

The Ritual Rug has started to take on an identity of its own, beyond the yoga industry. Kelly and her team have created an iconic, innovative, handwoven item that helps us all live a more mindful lifestyle.
