Like any industrial designer, Patrick Triato searches for problems that can be solved through thoughtful design. In 2015 Patrick started looking into industries that were super wasteful. Personal care rose to the top quickly. 850 million plastic toothbrushes end up in landfills every year, in the USA alone.
“You use a toothbrush for three months, and then it’s sitting around in the landfill for 4,000 years. There are 8 billion people on the planet. Every three months, we’re throwing this thing out, times 8 billion people.”
So Patrick saw an opportunity to disrupt the oral care industry with a sustainable option. To design and build a better toothbrush. Goodwell is a carbon-neutral company dedicated to creating environmentally conscious products that empower people to make better choices in their daily oral care routine. Their products are dentist recommended, design-centered, and innately better for the planet we share.
BAMBOO BRUSH 2-PK $14.00
PREMIUM BRUSH $25.00
PACIFIC MINT PASTE 2-PK $20.00
It all started with a simple offering of a bamboo toothbrush, which was just a really simple alternative to a plastic toothbrush. The Bamboo Toothbrush 2-Pack is an earth-friendly update to the classic manual toothbrush. Their Bamboo Brush gives you a great clean with a natural feel using sustainable, compostable bamboo, and charcoal-infused bristles.
Goodwell then introduced a sustainable twist on the classic manual toothbrush. A Premium Brush with a recycled aluminum handle to support a degradable brush head that can be changed out every three months. The Premium Brush gives you a superior brushing experience that’s better for your oral health and the planet.
With a blend of fresh mint and Jacobsen’s hand-harvested sea salt, Goodwell's Pacific Mint toothpaste is tasty and useful. The natural formula has no synthetics, preservatives, colorants, or fluoride. Pacific Mint Toothpaste comes in a recyclable tube made of a bio-resin derived from sugarcane. It can stand on its own, which eliminates the need for unnecessary additional packaging.
In seeking out an industry to improve through design, Patrick built a company and team dedicated to creating environmentally conscious products that empower people to make better choices in their daily oral care routines.
