Meet Scott Hamlin, CEO and founder of Looptworks, working with some of the world’s top companies to take excess materials and produce sustainable products.

Scott Hamlin and his team are pioneers in the closed loop product systems. Horrified and astounded by the immense amount of waste produced by the fashion industry, Scott founded Looptworks in August 2009 with a simple goal: utilize industry excess materials to create products.

This ethos is framed by one simple concept, which is also their motto: "Use only what already exists."

Scott is a former University of Oregon pole vaulter and decathlete. He once had Olympic dreams but a pulled hamstring before the 1992 Olympic Trials dashed those hopes. Today, he’s living his new dream working with some of the top companies in the world to take excess materials and produce sustainable products. Supporting upcycled products that avoid the use of virgin materials keeps these materials out of landfills and incinerators.

Scott and Looptworks are help rid the world of waste while inspiring a generation to reduce their impact on the planet by utilizing and re-purposing the world's pre-consumer excess. They are giving consumers a new option — products that lines up with their beliefs.

“There’s beauty in this excess and you can use creativity to turn it into a desirable product.”
